ABOUT THE IMPACT CIRCLE
The Impact Circle’s founding mission is to raise capital to fund yearly grants which impact our community. The Circle was founded with the ideology of putting funds to work where they are needed most – those lesser known, seldom considered, under-served and under serviced, unglamourous areas of our community.
How the Circle Works
Voting members of The Impact Circle, generously commit to a minimum donation of $1,000 a year. Members who donate more than $1,000 per annum, are awarded votes per $1,000 donation, to a maximum of 5% of the total voting power based on the current size of membership at the start of any applicable financial year. In this way, we prioritize and maintain the circle’s diversity and democracy of thought and intent behind its impact.
All donations are one hundred percent tax deductible and every cent of each donation goes towards grant winners for that financial year.
Each year, The Impact Cricle receives a number of grant applications from our local and national community. The grant committee then assesses these applications for suitability based on the Circle’s founding principles, before presenting a short-list of three to our members for a final vote.
Donations are received from members initially upon joining and then at the start of each following financial year, with grants being presented and voting taking place at start of the subsequent financial year.
The Impact Circle aims to distribute a flagship grant each year at increments of $100,000. Any donated capital remaining, will be granted to runner up grant applicants at increments of $25,000 and $50,000.
The Impact Circle was founded with the principle ideology of effecting meaningful change, where it’s needed most. Many charitable organisations are unable to qualify for government or large institutional grants. This is where the Impact Circle aims to spearhead grass roots community philanthropy.
Every member makes our circle wider. The wider the circle, the greater the impact.
hOW are we different?
Every dollar goes toward grant recipients – no admin fees, no overheads, no exceptions. Grant applicants are assessed, short-listed, and put to a vote. Every member has a vote. The Circle decides together.
Every member makes our circle wider. The wider the circle, the greater the impact.
We don’t host galas or fancy dinners. We don’t fill your inbox. We are designed as a low touch, quiet, fully online network for people who want their generosity to be felt – not performed. Philanthropy, not as a social event but as a conscious act for change.
